The Decline of Halloween

Since I like to talk about all things geeky, and nerdy. I think I need to touch upon Halloween which I believe is one of the geekiest holidays, and one I enjoy the most.  They say all things change, and I think the most noticable holiday to change over the passage of time is Halloween.

I remember as a kid being out most of the night, and trick or treating for hours up hours. Returning with bowls upon bowls of candy. Now these days due to the assholes who taint candy, or if it’s those mother fucking health nuts that warn against given candy out to kids I don’t see hardly any kids trick or treating, and it’s a crying shame.

Halloween is a time of fun, and adventure…and to be a little scary. Having a dress up party for your kids on Halloween is about as scary as Winnie the Pooh.

Like in the song this is Halloween, Life isn’t fun without a little scare.  By the way I knew a guy who did a costume like this one. It was great

Weekly Lagout

SWTOR - Well the debate is getting heated in some of the guilds I use to belong to, and belong to as to which side they are going. I’m going Empire there is no doubt in my mind. First, and Main toon will be Sith Warrior. I think I’ll even take a day off or two at launch.

I don’t support gay marriage unless both chicks are hot!

I just wanted to point this out. I thought it was very brave of BBB to come out with this post first off. Do I agree with it, not really.

It’s not that I hate gay’s or anything, hell I got more tranny’s on my site then Jerry Springer. I think my problem is a group of people want rights based on their choices in life. A black man born in this world isn’t given a choice whether to be black or not (except Micheal Jackson) . I think being gay is a choice, or at least environmental conditioning of some sort.  I don’t think we are born gay, like I wasn’t born fat, I became obese because I ate too much. It will take work not to be obese, and I choose not to that work.

Who would choose to be gay?  Well I don’t know, but you think I choose to be fat, it just is. I can either work against it, or accept it. I support those gays, lesbians, and TG people who chose to be who they are. This is America, the pursuit of happiness is your basic human right.

As for marriage, if gays get legal marriage, I want to use handicapped parking that’s closer to the store cause I’m obese.

To Nano…or Not to Nano

Every year I try my hand at writing a novel in a month, but every year life hits me pretty hard at that time. Like 2 years ago, my stepdad had a stroke, and last year I was trying to get myself well after corruption got into my leg. I drove out the unclean spirit through hard work and the darkest of arts.

This year I struggle with my day-to-day writing, and ideas are not flowing from me as they use to, which I’m sorry to say may show her in my work. I don’t know if I lack the motivation because of the dry spell in MMO’s which is the font for my inspiration is drying up, or in general my creativity as a writer is drying up…what little creativity I have left.

Oh sure I have some Novel Ideas rolling around in my head, but ideas are just that, to bring those ideas to life takes work, work I don’t know if I have the time for.

In general whether I join or not I think it’s a great idea, and a great time among writers, giving each other support. The website is awesome, and you get pep talk letters from authors that know their crap. If you ever thought about writing this is the time to do it.

As I think about this, and whether or not I want to jump in the fray again, I remember Yoda saying, “Do or Do Not Do, There is no try”

Weekly Lagout

WoW – Mist of Pandera, or whatever they are calling it is real..And no more relics, wands going to be used in main hand.  I’m thinking my finger is hovering over my cancel button closer, and closer…I mean Pandaren were an April Fools Joke, many years ago.  Seriously I would rather play as a Naga. Battling your pets…really?   WoW officially jumped the shark I think, no good can come of this.

SWTOR can’t come soon enough. Perhaps go back to Rift for a bit.

Other Games -

Darksiders (PS3) – Still just jamming this out. Getting stuck on this boss called the Jailer…it’s like looking in a mirror almost.

 Tobold, and Spinks have two interesting posts about the Death of MMO, it’s giving me something to think about.

Say Hello to The Bad Guy

Syp had a really good post the other day about what if we we’re the bad guys of the MMO world. Some people lament, and justify their actions in the context of being good. They want to keep their so-called “good guy” button.

Not me. I’m a virtual sociopath.  I’m the guy who relishes not only in my enemies defeat, but I want them to be humiliated.  I love PvP for a reason, because I can imagine players screaming at their monitor for blood, my blood. I take grand delight in denying them that pleasure.

Kill Ten Creatures, I kill thousands and do a jig when i practically perform my own genocide. Decimating whole populations for my ill-gotten gain, and if I can kill a rabbit in the process all that much better.

I gank, I cheat, I call your mother a tranny hooker in barrens chat.  You can call me whatever you want it really won’t change me, the game may change but I don’t. I may play by your rules to get what I need or want, then again I may not.  I don’t care all I want is victory, anything else wouldn’t be worth my time.

So if we are the bad guys, the villains, the scum of the virtual universe, so be it. I embrace it.  Every story needs a good villain, and I am him.

Say hello to the bad guy.

LIES!

Sort of like this picture. I felt let down like when a hot girl whips out a huge penis.  I guess the Warhammer 40k news was all speculation, or a massive leak. THQ is denouncing that stuff.  It did have me a little worried that they had a date set in stone. It’s my fault I should of spotted the Adam’s Apple..and that is a dude  in the pic.

On other front, been playing Darksiders alot.  I like Action games, but I like pure visceral killing, I’m not big on move this block here, jump here, place your cock here type of puzzles. Still like the game though, I do enjoy throwing my big penis…er I mean sword around.  I played the demo of Space Marine on the PS3 too, I think I like it better on the PS3 too. I dunno.

Weird usually when I’m without Internet I go into convulsions if I can’t log onto a MMO os some sort. Not this time, I think there’s a massive lull or calm before the storm before SWTOR, and no 4.3 patch is going to help WoW.  At the end of December I have this feeling WoW is going to be a ghost town.

I decided I’m going Sith Warrior for SWTOR, I’m gonna name him Rivz, or Darth Cockulus, haven’t decided yet.  I might have to save the latter for an RP server.

Weekly Lagout

Well besides playing console games like Dark Siders, and Brutal Legend. Just waiting for my Internet to be hooked up so I can get back into the MMO groove of things. I mean I enjoy console gaming, buuttt I’m getting older now twitchy games aren’t my speed anymore, though I must prepare for the WAR 40k MMO.

Darksiders

I am currently playing Darksiders for the PS3, and I am really enjoying this game. It’s made by the same company as Space Marine, so it plays alot…Errr I mean ALOT alike.  You got attacks, and executes, and the executes give you health back. Not just that I’m kind of digging the story line. Hell and Heaven fighting, and here you are in the middle. There’s a little comedy involved to. 

I also delved a little into Brutal Legend, with Jack Black as the voice, just the humor of it. It’s alot like a cartoon you play, and the soundtrack has some really awesome songs on it.

They might make me a console gamer yet…plus pixel angels are HOT!

Ahhh more news on the Warhammer 40k MMO.  Syp speculates that it is strange how they are going about giving out info. Not me I think it’s a little refreshing. I like the fact they gave an exact date…something to look forward to, even though as a gamer we ALL know that it will be pushed back.

Some things I like -

-The progression sounds cool, and hero classes too.

-Chaos…Yes Please!

-Raid size of 50…whoa, performance better be spot on though.

-Real Duel Wielding.

Some things I don’t like too much.

- Twitch based game…meh.

- 2 Faction system…yet again. Give me 3 factions for Khorne’s sake.

- What no Inquisitors, or Sisters of Battle?
