Rethinking Incanter’s Absoption
I’ve been thinking about Incanter’s Absoption as of late. Being that it is usually fight dependent may be true. When I was on the horde side, I rarely saw fights thats I needed IA in, and I didn’t have any Disc priests in my guild. But in my current guild we have some of the best Discipline Priests in the guild, plus I just heard the damage absorbed by your Wards (Fire/Frost) will even up your damage output. Tonight I will be respeccing and trying to figure out how I can fit this talent into my spec. Any of you mages out there use IA, any thoughts?
It will be fun trying this spec out tonight I think

I want to hear how it goes. I’m seriously considering making my second spec an IA spec for those fights. Now if I could just keep that disc priest on a shorter leash…

Well heres the thing I like hearing about you can use your wards to absorb damage.
I think they should move IA further up the Arcane Tree, so we can use it with Frost, and Ice Barrier.

This is the spec I’m looking at: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-talents.xml?r=Vek'nilash&cn=Cinzah&gn=Cohors+Praetoria
He’s the guy that posted the 25k on the Hodir speed kill that Jong was talking about.

Bah, you have to copy/paste the whole link because wordpress is stupid when there is an apostrophe in anything.

And I think this is the one I’m going to move to: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-talents.xml?r=Lightbringer&cn=Magealexis&gn=Iocaine+Powder+Pals
I’m not sure why the original one has points in Magic Absorption, except maybe for the mana return? But it’s at the cost of additional points into the IA talent.

My build currently…little different.

Here’s the parse for the night: http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/n2328gdc6tfiiqu1/sum/damageDone/
We were a mess on Hodir, like normal. Dropping that point in threat reduction seemed to have an impact (or at least coupled with the spike damage – that would be me getting pasted by a mace to the face on the first attempt – but I was pulling just shy of 25k DPS, lol). We did have a priest, but I did not get the benefit of bubbles very often.
Switched back to normal arcane until Mimiron and I realized after the first attempt that there was also a crap of fire damage I couldn’t avoid in there. Unfortunately did not drop Mim as people had to leave.
I would look at the parses more closely right now but it’s taking FOREVER for the pages to load and I have a short attention span.

I was never overly enamored with the talent. If you had spare pts, ok fine.
I use my dual spec for a pvp build. If I didn’t though, I could see it as an interesting situational build.

Yeah I’m gonna try it on a raid or two, if I don’t see an notable increase were going back to the ole tried and true.
